🧑‍🍳 How to make Panko Chicken

Follow our step by step guide to make the best Panko chicken!

    In the Oven

Preheat oven to 425°F. Line baking sheet with parchment paper. Whisk eggs in a bowl and set aside. Mix the spice blend for the chicken and set aside

Toast the breadcrumbs: Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add bread crumbs. Toast by stirring continuously until golden brown. Let it cool before adding seasoning to it.

Slice chicken into cutlets by cutting each horizontally into two

Dip chicken in egg mixture, then coat with Panko breadcrumbs. Place on a baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until juices run clear.

    In the air fryer

Preheat air fryer to 380°F. Spray crispy Panko chicken breast with oil and place in the air fryer basket. Cook for 12-15 minutes, flipping halfway through.

    On the stove top

Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add Panko breaded chicken and cook for 3-4 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through.

What to serve with Panko chicken

Panko chicken pairs well with various sides, such as roasted vegetables, sautéed green beans, mashed potatoes, or a fresh salad.

You can also serve it with your favorite dipping sauces, like Mayocue, Mayochup, Dijonnaise, honey mustard, ranch or even Bang bang sauce.

    How to store and Reheat

Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. To reheat, place chicken on a baking sheet and bake at 350°F until heated through.

    🤩 Tips

    • Use Panko breadcrumbs for the crunchiest texture.

    • Don't overcrowd the pan or baking sheet to ensure even cooking.

    • Let the chicken rest for a few minutes before serving to allow the juices to redistribute.

    • Adjust cooking times as needed, depending on the thickness of the chicken breasts.

    FAQs

Can I use regular breadcrumbs instead of Panko?

Yes you can use, however, Panko breadcrumbs provide a lighter, crunchier texture.

How do I prevent the coating from falling off?

Make sure to pat the chicken dry before coating, and let the coated chicken rest for a few minutes before cooking.

    Is Panko chicken healthy?

Panko chicken can be part of a healthy diet when enjoyed in moderation and paired with nutritious side dishes.
